Challenge
Our Client wanted to fully utilise their existing inventory of upgraded hot gas path parts to gain a competitive market advantage. At the same time, however, they did not wish to utilise Original Equipment Manufacturer or Independent Service Providers without a proven track record of supporting 9F-class engines. The engines also required specialised on-site machining services to allow for an upgrade implementation.
Solution
DeveEnergy in partnership with the Client undertook the challenge of performing the upgrade inspection, by providing project planning, project management and technical advisory services. In addition, we worked closely with the Client to build a local and international supply chain capable of fulfilling the outage requirements in the areas like manpower supply or specialised on-site machining.
Outcomes
10%
Output increase
3%
Heat rate decrease
Cost
Significant cost reduction
We took project planning and execution to new heights by executing the works at very short notice, which required significant planning phase compression without any negative impact on the safety, quality or schedule of the execution phase. DeveEnergy delivered the outage within the industry standard timeframe and supported commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring the engine was ready for commercial operation.
